Read John 14: 25-27, NIV

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.  My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.  Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.  These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.  All this I have spoken while still with you.  But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Prayer:

“Lord, I am sure that there is in me nothing that could attract the love of One as holy and just as You are. Yet You have declared Your unchanging love for me in Christ Jesus.  If nothing in me can win Your love, nothing in the universe can prevent You from loving me.  Your love is uncaused and undeserved.  You are Yourself the reason for the love wherewith I am loved.  Help me to believe the intensity, the eternity of this love that has found me.  Then love will cast out fear; and my troubled heart will be at peace, trusting not in what I am but in what You have declared Yourself to be.”
