Read Matthew 28:18-20 TPT

Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me.  Now wherever you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow  all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”

I love the verses throughout the Christmas story that talk about Jesus being called “Immanuel – God with us.”( Matt 1:23, Isaiah 7:14). They are some of the most comforting verses to me. The amount of love that God has for me in that He would send His son to be with us…to leave heaven to be here on earth…it overwhelms me. I am overcome with the magnitude of what that means for me; the healing and the salvation it provides.  But I think it is important to remember Jesus’ words from today’s passage right alongside those other verses, because Jesus never stopped being with us!  He continues to be with us today – in whatever we face. And all the while giving us the power and authority to bring His presence and the good news of His love to others. He is still with us today!
