Read – Psalm 63:3-4 – Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
At the beginning of the week we set out to answer the following questions: Who do we worship? God. How do we worship? Over and over again. Where? Everywhere! When? All the time! What is worship? Witnessing and professing God’s sovereignty, power, and love.
The last question left to answer is why. Why do we worship Him? “Because your love is better than my life, my lips will glorify you.” We worship God because of His great love for us. Christmas is one of the most powerful expressions of God’s love. The mighty King of Heaven sends his son to be born in a manger. He is all-powerful and holy, but He is also loving. We are too broken and sinful to face an all-powerful and holy God, but He is loving enough to face us! We are too weak to withstand his glory, but he is loving enough to send his son for our salvation! We worship God because of His love.
