Read Psalm 32:8 NIV

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Some of the best marriage advice I have ever received is to always expect or think the best of my spouse.  When I do that, I can trust that they love me and  I can trust that their actions aren’t meant to purposefully hurt me, even when they do something that I don’t agree with.  This is really good advice for most relationships.  Expecting the best of someone is a great way to build trust in your relationship.

What are your expectations of God?  Do you expect the best of God or do you pray and then spend the rest of your day unsure and hoping that He has heard your prayer?

Expecting the best of God is all about faith.  Faith is the confident assurance that God is in control of the future and that He plans what is best for our lives because He loves us. Each time we trust Him and expect Him to do what’s best for us, our faith grows.

That doesn’t mean that God will always do what we want, but we can be sure that He will act on what is best for us.  Today, focus on doing His will for the day and wait confidently in expectation for God to answer you with the best plan for your life.
