Each week of devotions throughout our Live Worthy series on Ephesians will be spent on a single chapter. We encourage you to re-read the chapter each day. Additionally, we will focus on a few key verses each day. This week, we will focus on chapter 4 of Ephesians
Read Ephesians 4
Focus Verses: Ephesians 4:17-24
So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Join me as a sinner saved by God’s grace: Lord, please bring us out of the darkness and into Your Light. Give us the wisdom we need to discern Your Will from our own selfish desires. Help us to repent of our sins, renew our minds, and restore our hearts as we draw closer to You, living righteously through Your atonement. We are all sinners who are so grateful to be saved by grace. Thank You, Jesus, for loving us and saving us from a life of eternal sin. We are exceptionally thankful that You continue to walk with us on this journey, reminding us that we are worthy, filling us with Your never-ending, unconditional love. Amen
My added prayer for those who are uncertain. I pray that you allow Jesus to be your personal Savior. I pray that you accept His grace, turn from your sin, and live the life He intended for you! You may ask Jesus into your heart in private or reach out to someone to witness your account. However you choose, your prayer will be heard and answered. He is waiting for you! You are invited!
