and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Lord,
I admit that I am not always careful with the words I speak. I underestimate, dismiss, and sometimes I even misuse the power that my words hold without much thought as to their impact. Change my heart, oh God, remove the selfish thoughts and desires to be right and to make my opinions known. Give me a desire to see those around me lifted up, encouraged, and filled with hope because of my words. Help me to not speak carelessly but to acknowledge the weight my words might have and measure them accordingly. I am not able to speak life into the lives of others on my own, so I give You control and I ask You to speak through me. Let nothing come out of my mouth except what is from You. Amen.
