In Acts 11:24-26 we learn that “Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.”
You can read more about Barnabas and Paul’s continued service in Acts 13-15. Here is an overview:
For a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people.
When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark. People saw what they had done, they believed, and were amazed at the teachings about the Lord. A short time after John left them to return to Jerusalem.
Barnabas and Saul (and John) were a great team, traveling together and working for the Lord. They were encouraged by many crowds to hear the teachings of the Lord. They performed signs and wonders and when they faced adversity they shook the dust off their feet and went on. They acknowledged that they must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God and they were both willing to do so. They were committed to the grace of God for the work they were doing.
Because Barnabas was full of the Holy Spirit and was committed to serving God, many others were able to experience God’s grace. As you read of the testimonies and miracles revealed in Acts 13-15, I hope you are blessed with the understanding of God’s power and love for you and it encourages all of us to spread the Word!
Dear Lord,
We are so blessed to have the convenience of Your Word. We thank you for the stories and the encouragement of everyday people like Barnabas and Paul. Help us to understand and be familiar with Your ways so that we may be brave enough to speak boldly of You and Your teachings. In Jesus Name, Amen
