Read: 2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to be the kind of person God will accept, and give yourself to him. Be a worker who has no reason to be ashamed of his work, one who applies the true teaching in the right way.

‘Honest Abe’ was a nickname given to Abraham Lincoln. You may think it was because he was known as a President with integrity and that is true, but the name was actually given to him as a youngster. When he worked as a store clerk, if he discovered he did not give the correct change to a customer, he would close the store, find the customer and give them the correct amount of money. That reputation continued throughout his life.

I suspect we all would like the reputation of Abraham Lincoln. To be known as a trustworthy friend, family member, or co-worker. Better yet, to be known by God as someone with those qualities. He even gave us an example of honesty when Jesus walked the earth. As John Lennon once stated, “Being honest may not get you a lot of friends, but it will always get you the right ones.” Integrity will bring you the right friend, His name is Jesus.
