But Barnabas took him and brought him (Saul) to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
The disciples feared Saul because he was known for killing Christians. But Barnabas sees Saul as something else and serves as an advocate for Saul. Barnabas does not give an account of Saul’s past. He does not even make mention of Saul’s reputation, but instead focuses on how the Lord is at work within Saul and how Saul is working for the Lord.
Lord, Help us to focus on the good of today. Bring to our attention only what You see as important. We celebrate how far we have all come since accepting Jesus into our hearts and the many ways You are working! Help us to be like Barnabas and advocate for each other and show the world ALL that You can do!! In Jesus Name, Amen
