Each week of devotions throughout our Live Worthy series on Ephesians will be spent on a single chapter. We encourage you to re-read the chapter each day. Additionally, we will focus on a few key verses each day. This week, we will focus on chapter 5 of Ephesians
Read Ephesians 5
Living Wisely in Evil Days
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
Time is one of our most precious, non-renewable gifts.
Paul warns that “the days are evil,” meaning that the world’s current course pulls people away from God. Wise living requires more than avoiding sin; it means seizing opportunities to serve, witness, and grow.
Understanding God’s will is central — it anchors us when culture tries to redefine truth. Living wisely is intentional living, where every choice is weighed in light of eternity. Our aim is not simply to do more, but to do what matters most for God’s kingdom.
Question to Ponder: How can I be intentional in my use of time this week?
