John 21:10-11

“Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.”

Although He had already prepared food, Jesus invited the disciples to participate in the meal. This demonstrates a consistent biblical principle: God accomplishes His purposes through people.

Paul describes this partnership in 1 Corinthians 3:9:

“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

The specific number of fish, 153,  emphasizes the reality of the miracle. This was not symbolic exaggeration but a measurable event. Scripture frequently records details to confirm the reliability of God’s work (Luke 1:3–4).

Restoration does not remove responsibility. Instead, it restores usefulness.

Peter, who had denied Christ publicly, now participated actively in Christ’s work again. This reflects the biblical pattern of restoration seen throughout Scripture. David sinned grievously, yet later prayed:

“Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.”  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭13‬

God restores people not merely to forgive them, but to use them.

Something to ponder today:  Am I willing to serve God again after failure, trusting that He can still use me?
