I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
I have a couple of friends I meet with weekly. In the last few years we have talked and prayed each other through the deepest and darkest of seasons and we have celebrated and thanked God together for the greatest of joys. They are some of the most awesome people I know and I cannot imagine doing life and ministry without them. We represent several different generations and stages in life so we have had different perspectives on the struggles and the joys we have experienced. God has given us so many specific and unique opportunities to speak into each other’s lives and encourage each other by our faith. Their strength, their encouragement and their steadfast faith has often held me up when I have been at my weakest. It has been such a gift to me.
What a gift faith centered relationships are from God to us! What can you do this week to cultivate those types of relationships in your own life? Who can you wrap up in love, encouragement and faith this week?
