Take a minute and do this exercise with me….close your hands, curl your fingers in, squeeze them all together, push your fingertips deep into your palms.  How does it feel? Do you feel secure or do you feel tense? Is this comfortable or uncomfortable? Now slowly release your fists, straighten  your fingers, open your palms. How does that feel?  Don’t you feel more comfortable with your hands open?

When we practice this exercise, we become aware of what we are holding tightly. We get all tense and may even start to feel angry. As we unclasp our hands we relax and realize that we have nothing to fear. How often do we hold tight to fears and anxious thoughts that turn out to be nothing?

To what insignificant thing are you holding on? What has you clenching your fists?

Note how Isaiah 41:13 encourages you to let it go:

For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Make it easier on the Lord to take hold of your hand by unclenching it!  1 Peter 5:7 tells us:

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. TPT

Release all your cares and worries. Open your hands and begin living the worry free life the Lord has given you. Trust in Him!
