‭‭Read Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

Jesus doesn’t just tell us to believe—He tells us to speak. That can feel uncomfortable at first, but there’s something powerful about aligning our words with God’s truth.

A few years ago, our family faced a huge mountain that shook us to our core. My husband had a stroke, and it was scary and looked like a life-altering mountain that we did not want to face!

I shared with a dear friend of mine that I was terrified and didn’t know how to even form words to pray. She advised me that God’s Word is filled with all the words I need. She showed me how to open His Word and speak boldly the prayers and promises that are on the pages of my well-worn Bible….and let them become my prayer!

As I began speaking God’s Word out loud in prayers of faith back to Him, my trust grew, and my heart felt an overwhelming sense of peace, calm, and knowing that God is always in control. God threw our mountain into the sea, and my heart believed that He would! I wasn’t trying to convince God—I was reminding my own heart who was actually in control!

Reflection: Are your words reinforcing your mountain, or are they reflecting God’s power?

Prayer: God, align my words with faith, not fear. When I struggle to find words of faith, remind me to open Your Word and read it out loud! Remind me to allow Your words of truth, grace, and mercy to flow over me and replace my fear with faith!
