I don’t know about you, but I certainly have learned a lot this week…
Let’s recap:
We learned that God created light.
In the beginning God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3
We learned who Jesus is.
Jesus spoke to the people again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me won’t walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
We learned what Jesus does.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:11
We learned how to accept Jesus’ invitation to live a life with Him.
“Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10.
We learned how we should live.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
Today I want to share with you the good news found in Revelation 21-22. (SPOILER ALERT)
Revelation 22:5 Never again will night appear, and no one who lives there will ever need a lamp or the sun. The Lord God will be their light, and they will rule forever!
Revelation 22:16 Jesus speaks, “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root of the Offspring of David and the bright Morning Star.”
Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
We are reassured He is coming (again) soon!
I want to encourage all of you to read your Bible, ask questions, get in fellowship with one another, share the good news – be the light!
Dear God, Thank You for enlightening us this week with Your Word. Thank You for the gifts of Your teachings. Help us to grow deeper in our faith as we learn more about You and Your ways. Let us encourage one another to be the light in a world that can sometimes be so dark and discouraging. Thank You for exposing us to the truth of Your ways. Thank You, Lord, that we can put our faith and trust in You. Amen
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with all of you!
