But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
It is really astonishing how quickly my children grow physically! I mean, we bought my son new shoes just a few months ago and he is already complaining about them becoming too tight! Growing is a natural process. Our son is developing and increasing in size physically, even when we wish those shoes would fit just a little longer.
I think about how much I love my son and want him to grow not only physically, but also spiritually, emotionally and mentally. And I think about who he might become as a man. So I pray for him to become all that God has created Him to be. I pray verses like 2 Peter 3: 18 over his life: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
I hope that my son never stops learning who Jesus is and discovering His character daily. I hope that he implements what he learns to grow closer to God and to help spread who Jesus is around the globe.
This year let’s grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus. Let’s increase our faith and grow spiritually into all He wants us to be. Let us love others without holding back and see not only how God can grow in us, but through us.
