This week, we have learned so much about the life of Timothy and the relationship he shared with his friend and mentor Paul. I love this verse! Paul clearly loved his friend. He spent much time pouring into this friendship and preparing Timothy for this moment in which he is sending him off on his own! Paul discipled Timothy. Timothy was a student of Paul’s as he learned how to share his faith with others. Timothy was led to remind us of how to live in Christ Jesus, just as Paul had taught.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the example of faith, friendship and mentorship that You have taught us through the study of the life of Timothy this week. Help us to seek friendships that are centered on learning about You. Help us to prioritize our time so that we intentionally spend it with others who can mentor us in our faith. May we seek opportunities to be a student of Your Word and may we be preparing our hearts to share our testimony of faith with the world. Amen.
