We grow best in groups
Micah 6:8 (NLT) No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT) Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.
Being a grandma is good; so good!! This role has taught me many things and humbled me in so many ways. Although I have wisdom that comes from years of trial and error(s), I realize I still have so much to learn. Knowing what I know and being aware that there is a little person watching (& copying) every move gives me an even stronger desire to do what is right. I recognize the mercy the Lord has shown me by assigning me this precious little girl to care for and love. I am humbled to be able to serve Him by caring for this amazing sweet child! I truly am!
I am also much more aware of my mistakes as a grandparent than I was as a parent. I recognize the need to be in the company of those who also desire to do what is right. I have had the blessing of serving with some amazing teens in the nursery at church. These young women show up with pure desire to do the right thing. They ask questions, they make several attempts to engage with and assist with the necessary care that babies need to feel safe and loved while separated from their parents.
I have heard confessions from exhausted moms at the playground that admit to their difficult mornings. I have asked questions and brainstormed with friends and families who have been faced with toddler behaviors that are difficult. Each conversation ends with gratitude for the blessings God has given us in the midst of our struggles. And we all go home with a little more insight and direction.
I have been blessed to witness the patience of a librarian who reads despite many interruptions from squirmy, curious toddlers. I am humbled by her gentle words and directions that yield positive results.
I am grateful and blessed for all the opportunities the Lord has given me through this little bundle of joy! I am grateful to be in the Grandparent Club and for the many ways I have grown in my assigned role!
Thank you Lord for the amazing people You have placed in my life! I am grateful for all the ways we motivate one another to do good. Help me to continue to reach out and make connections. Show me ways in which I can be an encourager to someone You have placed in my path.
