Daily Devotionals

As a nursing student, one of the very first lessons I was taught was the importance of movement. We were instructed to encourage our patients to get out of bed as soon as they can. If a patient could not get out of bed, we were to assist them in sitting up, moving, or doing exercises in bed. Flexing and relaxing muscles keeps muscles from weakening. Prolonged bed rest leads to rapid physiological deconditioning. Within just a few days, it triggers muscle atrophy, reduced bone density, cardiovascular decline, and metabolic changes. While rest is sometimes necessary, extended immobility generally causes a vicious cycle of weakness, increasing all kinds of risks, including functional decline, and can be potentially fatal.

Read James 2:17

Faith without action is dead.

Read Matthew 5:16

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Just as healing requires movement, true spiritual growth and advancement come from intentional, purposeful action. Let’s get moving!!

Who will you spread the Good News to today?

What action do you need to take to let your light shine?

Where is God asking you to share the Good News?

What keeps you from telling people about Jesus? How can you change that?

When are you most likely to share the Good News?
