Read: Psalm 23
Psalm 23 is probably the most well-known Psalm, and for good reason. Written by David likely while on the run, this Psalm uses the metaphor of shepherding to depict God’s care and love for us, his sheep. The last several verses of the Psalm provide an excellent summary of David’s faith:
‘Surely, goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.”
This is why David was known as a man after God’s own heart. He wasn’t perfect – he made some serious mistakes – but his deepest desire was to dwell with God forever and always. Having faith like David starts when we make dwelling with God our number one priority.
Pray through Psalm 23 today. What does it look like for you to have faith like David?
