Read John 2:9b-10

Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

Read Isaiah 25:6-8

On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare

    a feast of rich food for all peoples,

a banquet of aged wine—

    the best of meats and the finest of wines.

On this mountain he will destroy

    the shroud that enfolds all peoples,

the sheet that covers all nations;

he will swallow up death forever.

The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears

    from all faces;

he will remove his people’s disgrace

    from all the earth.

The Lord has spoken.

Today’s verses speak to us of the generosity of the Kingdom of God! Jesus sets the tone that the kingdom of God is not lacking – on the contrary, it is rich and full of life and joy for all who belong to the family of God.

Today, I hope you hear that God loves you with an abundant and extravagant love. This life is not all there is – in fact the best is yet to come! There is a wedding feast being prepared as Jesus gets ready to collect His bride, the church – you and me. He is pursuing your heart and preparing a place for you at the table.

Meditate on today’s verses, asking God to reveal more of who He is and the love He has for you. Rest in the assurance of His extravagant love for you.
