Read Matthew 11:29 MSG
Jesus invites us to: “Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”
This is the best invitation ever! I can just picture myself walking with Jesus, working alongside Him, watching and learning!! What is the lesson He is teaching today? The unforced rhythms of grace…hmmm…what does that mean?
Unforced rhythms to me mean not taking matters into our own hands. It means walking WITH Jesus, not ahead of Him. It means standing in a position to see clearly all that He wants us to see and understand at that very moment. It means being in line with God’s will and allowing things to occur naturally according to God’s plan, not our own. WOW! All this requires patience. It is a process that cannot be hurried or forced. When we take matters into our own hands and hurry things along, we get ahead of God and His ultimate plan. Hurry is the enemy of intimacy with God and others. Let’s stop right here and pray together. Let’s take a deep breath in, taking in all that the Lord wants us to learn today:
Father, we come to You as children. We look up to You and are in awe of all the marvelous things You do. Lord, teach us how to slow down and pay close attention to the details. Help us to develop habits that mimic You and Your ways so that love and grace flow naturally from our hearts. Thank You for being patient with us in the process. We look forward to a day filled with Your presence and direction. Thank You and Amen.
