Read Ephesians 2:12-13 CSB
At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Lord,
Sometimes my heart is pulled back into guilt and shame, and I live from a place of fear – trying to make myself good enough… to make up for all my sin. It feels like an endless struggle and one I can never win. So I am grateful today for the two little words “But now” in today’s verses, which remind me that who I was before is not who I am now because of Jesus. Because of You, I have hope – brought near through Your sacrifice and love! Help me to see my old self in a way that acknowledges the difference You have made, creating a full and grateful heart that runs even harder after the life you have called me to. Amen.
