Christ and the Church in Marriage
Marriage is more than a social contract — it is a living parable of Christ and the Church. Husbands are called to love sacrificially, modeling Christ’s care for His people. Wives are called to respect and support, reflecting the Church’s devotion to Christ.
This passage isn’t about hierarchy, but about mutual love and service rooted in the Gospel. The world should see the self-giving love of Jesus in Christian marriage.
Even for those unmarried, the principle stands: our relationships should display the Gospel’s love, humility, and unity.
Question to Ponder: How can my relationships — whether in marriage, family, or friendship — display the love of Christ to others?
