Each week of devotions throughout our Live Worthy series on Ephesians will be spent on a single chapter.  We encourage you to re-read the chapter each day. Additionally, we will focus on a few key verses each day. This week, we will focus on chapter 3 of Ephesians

Read: Ephesians 3:13-16 (NIV) “I ask therefore that you do not lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory. For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being”

Paul shifts from explaining the mystery to a fervent prayer for the Ephesians. He doesn’t want them to “lose heart” because of his suffering as a prisoner; instead, he sees his tribulations as their “glory,” a testament to the truth of the gospel he preached to them. He then kneels in prayer, a posture of deep reverence and humility. His primary request is profound: that God would “strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” This isn’t a prayer for external circumstances to change, but for an internal, spiritual empowerment. It’s a prayer for resilience, spiritual vitality, and a deep-seated strength that comes from God’s glorious riches and the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Pray: Father, we humble ourselves before You, the source of all life and family. We pray that out of Your glorious riches, You would strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being. When we face trials or feel weak, remind us that our true strength comes from You. Amen.
