Read 1 Kings 17:2-16
Main Verses: 1 Kings 17:15-16 “She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.”
Sometimes what God asks us to do isn’t easy. Elijah is a great example of this. He struggled with fear for his life, and through both drought and famine, which brought him to the widow at Zarephath. Elijah was in need of food, and truthfully, so was the widow. What little she had certainly would not sustain her and her son for very long. Both Elijah and the Widow needed a miracle. Elijah’s obedience and trust in God’s provision paved the way for both of them to see God’s miracle.
When we are struggling it can often be hard to see how God wants to use us. It might feel like it is easier to focus solely on what our needs are or to just give up entirely. But sometimes God wants to use our circumstances to provide a miracle for someone else.
Be open to where God leads you this week no matter what your circumstances are. Ask God to help you be obedient and to strengthen your trust in Him. Allow God to use you to be a part of a miracle despite your circumstances.
