Read Romans 15:13 NIV
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This is my prayer for you today. It’s that simple.
It is a known fact that, as humans, we tend to overcomplicate things. I don’t know about you, but I WANT to trust in God, but before I even realize it I am taking over. I try to control things. I really don’t want to. By doing this I create a lot of unnecessary anxiety for myself and I bet it is a bit irritating to others and for God as well. I get in His way. I realize I make things harder on myself, others and for God. I realize I need help. So, where do I go?
Well, the best thing I have found to do is spend time with God; read His Word. But even in His Word, I’m guilty of looking for a to-do list when all God wants is for us to spend time with Him. Talking. Listening. Undistracted by the to-do lists. To be still is hard – but I have found it to be necessary.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for the many gifts You provide. Help us to enjoy them and not overcomplicate things. As we spend more time with You and “allow” Your hope to fill us, we are grateful to experience the PURE joy through trusting in You and Your strength. Together may we accomplish the goal of finding joy and peace in all circumstances. Amen
