Read Matthew 6:27 NLT

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

I tend to worry a lot…about everything.  One time, as I waited for my husband to pick me up, I became so anxious that we would be late to where we were headed, that I actually started walking in the direction I knew he would arrive from.  True story.  I am not even really sure what I thought I would accomplish by walking to him.  When I met him on the road (two houses down), my worry and anxiety continued as I climbed into the car.  I spewed my anxiety all over him with my words in the form of blame mixed with a little sarcasm.  It was not a pretty sight…or a pleasant drive.

Worry and anxiety have a tendency to look pretty ugly on us.  They don’t do anything good for us at all.  We waste so much time and energy allowing our minds to get worked up over situations that God already has under His control.  Worry or anxious thoughts are the opposite of trusting in God.

God sees you. He loves you.  He cares for you…even in the midst of pressing uncertainties in your life.  Let’s stop wasting our time and our energy replaying our fears over and over in our minds. Instead, let’s focus on God’s truth. Let it erase your anxious thoughts today. Worry won’t change your situation…but God can make something beautiful out of it.
