Read John Chapter 19
Chapter 19 tells of Jesus’ sentencing, crucifixion, death and burial. He has been wrongfully accused of many untruths that were spoken. He was misunderstood. Yet through it all, Jesus speaks with confidence of the truth that no man has power unless it is given to them from above. No matter what any man tries to do, Jesus stands firm in His commitment to His Father. Jesus gives all the glory, the honor, and the power to His Father. Jesus holds tight to the Words of His Father, honoring all that is written. He does not give in nor give up until all that is written is fulfilled.
Even after His death, at His resurrection, when He first appears to Mary Magdelene, He says “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (John 20:17) Jesus continues to be obedient and committed to following The Father’s plans. He must do what He needs to do and tells Mary to do what she needs to do.
Later, when Jesus appears to His disciples, coming in peace, with reassurance and proof that He is their Lord, He tells them to accept the Holy Spirit, empowering them with the gift of forgiveness. This is the gift that is available to every one of us! By simply believing and accepting Jesus as our personal savior, we are granted the gift of forgiveness and nothing will ever separate us from the love of God! You can begin today by committing your life to Jesus!

Romans 10:9-11 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess that you are saved.”
