Read Romans 8:20-22 NLT

Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,  the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.  For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

You probably don’t need me to tell you that the world we live in is broken. The evidence of its brokenness inundates our culture and can be seen with the click of a button…without even trying to find it. The brokenness of our world began with a single broken relationship. Adam and Eve broke the relationship humans had with God so long ago in the garden. Since then, sin has grown like a disease getting between us and God and inevitably getting between us and others creating a cycle of brokenness that can only be stopped by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

In practical terms, we see this all played out in the brokenness of our world. Broken relationships, broken communities, addiction, abuse, poverty, racism, sickness, and disasters.

But thankfully Jesus is a fixer of broken things! Hope for a broken world! Through the power of His death and resurrection, the whole world waits with anticipation for the day when everything is restored. Today, ask God to help you stay focused on His love and His ability to restore hearts and our world. Thank Him for His love and the opportunities He gives us to be people who share that hope with the world around us.
