Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
What was impressed upon you as a child?
Who was “fighting” for you? Who was talking to you? Walking with you?
For me, it was my Kindergarten teacher! She taught me so many valuable lessons and continues to encourage and inspire me today! She was my “mother” 5 days a week. She made it her responsibility to impress upon me the basic skills I would need in life (me and about 20 other 5 year olds). We learned ABCs and 123s, how to tie our shoes and be kind to our friends. She taught us how to write our names with pride. She taught us how to be confident and humble. We learned manners and independence. I am grateful to this woman who chose to impress upon me all the important stuff. Today we spend most of our time talking about how grateful we are for Jesus and His sacrifice for us. We are thankful that God brought us together almost 50 years ago!
If you are struggling to think of someone positive who impacted your life, I want you to know the love of your Heavenly Father who sent His Son to die for YOU! HE cares about you and wants a relationship with you! Please join me in the prayer of salvation:
Dear Jesus, I believe that You came and died on the cross and rose again to save me from my own sins. Thank you. I am asking that You come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Amen
